‘Lights Down Low’ is a song based on a story of a made up relationship that Amber places her perspective on. The first thing that came to her was the pre-chorus which is really the main hook in the song and the most recognisable. “He only likes you with the lights down low, he only needs you when he’s all alone…”
The lyrical content of this song is about an outside perspective of an unhealthy relationship where one person is completely blindsided and oblivious to what they're actually going through. No matter how much pride you have you need to speak up if something isn't right and don't let yourself get brainwashed into thinking it's ok when it might not be.
